**A Brief Job Description:**

*In alignment with the Society for the Protection and Care of Childrens (SPCC) of providing the best opportunities for a bright future by respectfully partnering with children and their families, advocating for their health, well-being and safety, and working to heal and strengthen relationships,* *SPCC is seeking a full time Nutritionist in the WIC Program. The program is based in Canandaigua and Newark, New York and serves Ontario, Wayne, Yates, Seneca and Eastern Monroe Counties.*

**JOB TITLE:** WIC Nutritionist

**REPORTS TO:** WIC Senior Nutritionist

**STATUS:** Full Time, Non-exempt 40 hours per week

**SALARY:** 21.00/hr.

**JOB SUMMARY**:

WIC Nutritionist performs health and nutrition assessments of WIC applicants. Identifies and documents risk factors according to program requirements. Provides nutrition and health counseling based on participant need. Makes appropriate referrals to health and human service agencies. Travel throughout five county area required.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

* Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) **or**

* Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Nutrition from an accredited college/university **or**

* Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university **or**

* Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR) **or**

* Bachelors degree in an appropriate health-related field from an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours in nutrition

* Strong assessment skills in health and general nutrition

* Must demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

* Have an understanding of cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people

* Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times

* Must be comfortable working in a fast paced clinic environment and be willing and able to work several evenings per month

* Advancing professional knowledge and skills by attending relevant workshops and seminars

* A demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work and delivering services with a trauma-informed and equitable lens

* Valid NYS Driver License
