A financial services firm located in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Finance professional to join their staff as their new VP / SVP of Finance. Responsibilities The VP / SVP of Finance will be responsible for:
- Oversight of all financial, administration, operations, compliance and technology related functions for the firm
- Introducing and implementing best-in-class processes and systems that can support further the firm's growth
- Overseeing the management company books and records, including budgetary planning, cashflow / P&L accounting and client billing and reporting
- Management of service provider relationships, including the Administrator, Prime Brokers and Auditors
- Overseeing the Administrator and internal accounting records and reporting
- Negotiating and ensuring timely renewal of all vendor agreements
- Participating in operational due diligence efforts with investors
- Working with the firm's Principals to guide the culture and overall strategy of the organization
- Involvement with IT infrastructure issues, office management and other related issues
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience with an Investment Adviser / Private Equity or Credit Fund as a Controller / Operations Manager
- Bachelor's Degree
- Solid understanding of the Securities industry, including SEC regulations applicable to a Registered Investment Adviser
- Experience in a Leadership role
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical and mathematical skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
