COMPANY BACKGROUND:
Leading independent investment bank specializing in distressed financial advisory and restructuring work is seeking experienced Vice President to join NY-based group.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Incumbent will act as deal leader / quarterback for restructuring advisory engagements across sector, including managing and mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Transaction execution, Financial modeling & Financial analysis (valuations)
- Industry research, Client presentations, active participation in client meetings both for new business opportunities as well as active engagements.
- Serve as conduit between Partners and Associates
- Support business development activities, participate in meetings with potential clients and referral sources (private equity firms).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics, Finance, or Accounting
- 3 + years of relevant advisory or transactional experience at the Associate and/or Vice President level, ideally with a background in restructuring/workout/special situations/distressed environments.
- Commensurate experience in a role with overall responsibility for deal materials, timeline management, and execution process
- Superior financial modeling, analytical and quantitative skills with accountability for direct work and the work of analysts/associates
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent client service skills
