DescriptionJob Summary The Niagara Falls USA Official Visitor Center exists to provide tourist information and itinerary planning for what to see and do in Niagara Falls USA and its surrounding communities. The Visitor Service Representative is responsible for ensuring all visitors receive the most accurate information relating to the attractions, restaurants, events, etc. within the confines of Niagara County.Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Serves as a resource for the traveling public by answering questions about the attractions, restaurants, events, etc.
- Assists visitors with planning itineraries utilizing company website, company produced collateral, and partner brochures.
- Raise brand awareness through the sale of branded apparel and merchandise in our retail shop.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the Niagara Falls USA Official Visitor Center.
- Answers phone calls in courteous and efficient manner, referring callers to the Niagara Falls USA website or to the appropriate department.
- Work scheduled hours which may include: evenings, weekends, and holidays; must be entrusted with opening and closing facility and setting an alarm.
- Assumes additional responsibilities or projects as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and passion for Niagara Falls, Niagara County, and Western New York.
- Possesses a strong sense of pride in the community.
- General knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Team player attitude, collaborative in style of work.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite application (Word, Excel) with an ability to learn other proprietary software as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One plus years of experience in a customer service environment.
- Retail experience a plus.
- Bilingual abilities a plus.
- Preferably a Niagara Falls/Niagara County resident.
Physical Demands:Sitting, standing, bending, heavy lifting (30 pounds), carrying, repetitive movements due primarily to computer work. Perform all of the ergonomic requirements without significant risk of injury to oneself or others, or otherwise demonstrate or explain how one can perform essential functions listed above.
