Job Title: Visitor Center Associate (Temp to Perm)Classification: Non-ExemptPay Rate: $18 per hourReports to: Public Affairs ManagerSummary Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) is an 85-acre, 1.3-mile public space that stretches along the Brooklyn waterfront. Our mission is to connect people, nature, and the waterfront through inclusive, innovative, and sustainable management and design. Our vision is to contribute to a healthier, more livable city.Brooklyn Bridge Park is seeking part-time Visitor Services Associates for the upcoming 2024 summer season. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, motivated, friendly, and reliable. They have phenomenal interpersonal and communication skills, a strong passion for learning and sharing information, exemplifies a no task is too small attitude, and a sense of humor. Working with the Public Affairs team, this position will support BBPs visitor services program as roving ambassadors throughout the Park with established stations at different locations in the Park, greeting park-goers and answering questions.This is a temporary position for the summer season (approx. 10-15 hours a week, mid-May to September) and requires availability on weekends. Work hours are subject to change as needed. Typical work hours: Thursday and Friday, 2-7pm; Saturday and Sunday, 1-6pmEssential Functions:
  • As a Park Ambassador greet Park-goers, answer questions, provide directions, and share information.
  • Share knowledge with visitors about general park information; park history and future construction projects; events/programming; openings and closures within the Park.
  • Be knowledgeable, clear, and friendly about park rules and BBPs permit processes.
  • Conduct and record visitorship surveys and data to submit to the BBP Public Affairs team.
  • Other duties and special projects as directed.
