Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Vice President of Global Sourcing and Production. The Vice President will be responsible for managing supplier evaluation, supply chain management, supplier development, procurement, and global sourcing. They will oversee the sourcing and production processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products. The Vice President will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all sourcing, product development, costing and production for Men s & Ladies across all Brands
- Responsible in placing all inventory & upfront buys for Costco, BJ s, TJX, Ross, Burlington, Dunhams, Boscovs, Big5 and other small sporting chains and major off price retailers
- Work cross-functionally with design and sales counter parts to ensure timely development of fabric, trims and proto samples
- Monitor seasonal T&A Calendar to plan production capacity with all vendors
- Meet weekly, either in person or via WeChat with vendors to ensure production are executed timely to help ensure factory utilization and efficiencies
- Collaborate with designers and sales to align products and cost engineer to meet company goals and market demands
- Coordinate with Operations/Logistics Team to strategize routing of shipment to ensure balanced allocation for every warehouse location and timely distribution
- Cultivate close relationship with every vendor to maintain long term relationship and cooperation with loyalty & integrity
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the premium quality of all products
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to continuously innovate and improve production processes.
- Identify potential production risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Advocate and implement sustainable production practices, ensuring environmentally-friendly operations
- Travel overseas to visit factories, vendors &walk the floor with retail buyers.
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in the apparel industry mandatory
- Strong experience in supplier evaluation, supplier development, and procurement
- Expertise in global sourcing and supply chain management
- Proven track record of successfully managing sourcing and production processes
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
