Title: Vice President of Engineering

Our customer is a pioneering leader in the development of cutting-edge battery technologies. Their commitment to innovation and safety has positioned them at the forefront of the rapidly evolving energy storage industry. As they continue to expand their operations and push the boundaries of what's possible, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead the engineering divisions, globally.

Role Overview:

The Vice President of Engineering will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of the company and spearheading the development of advanced battery technologies. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of engineering, from research and development to product design and manufacturing. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership:

- Define and drive the company's engineering strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.

- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, researchers, and scientists to develop innovative battery technologies that meet market demands and regulatory requirements.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence within the engineering organization.

2. Research and Development:

- Direct and prioritize research efforts to explore new materials and chemistries for battery technology advancement.

- Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of experiments and simulations to optimize battery performance, efficiency, and durability.

- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.

3. Product Development:

- Drive the development and commercialization of new battery products from concept to production, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and operations, to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions on schedule.

4. Quality and Compliance:

- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes and standards throughout the product development lifecycle.

- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications, such as ISO, UL, and IEC.

5. Team Management and Development:

- Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to empower team members to achieve their full potential and deliver outstanding results.

- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the engineering organization, championing a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field. MBA or other business qualifications are a plus.

- Proven track record of leadership in battery technology development, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior engineering / management role within the energy storage industry.

- Deep expertise in battery materials, cell design, manufacturing processes, and testing methodologies.

- Strong business acumen and demonstrated experience in translating technical innovations into successful commercial products.

- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organization.

- Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation.
