The firm is a global organization offering customized solutions for our clients across the service areas of valuations, dispositions, financing, and investment. Headquartered in Boston, MA, they operate with more than 450 employees in over 30 offices across five continents.

This is an asset (Inventory) appraisal role requiring a high degree of proficiency in analyzing quantitative data and business performance to produce inventory appraisal reports.

This role will be based in NY, with regular travel required to our office on Long Island and requires the candidate to live in the state of NY.

The Analyst or Senior Analyst applies business knowledge and experience to build valuation models of inventory assets, conducts and applies research to determine client industry position and financial performance, and communicates the final appraisal results in narrative documents.

  • Provides analytical support for on-going and new valuations projects, including due diligence, analysis, and data collection to ensure the accuracy of supplied information.
  • Works in accordance with established methodologies and utilizes standard models and templates with direction.
  • Handles multiple projects from start to finish, independently, and with the support of a team.
  • Communicates with bank clients and appraised companies to understand company-provided information and its business and operational challenges.
  • Performs company and industry analysis on key performance indicators such as inventory productivity, gross margin, and operating expenses to help determine value.
  • Develops a qualitative understanding of nuances that may affect asset values, and review findings with company management and clients.
  • Participates in job inspections, and/or client meetings with a senior-level Appraiser, to include taking photographs of assets and providing notes or dictation.
  • Become proficient in and adhere to USPAP standards, particularly as they apply to inventory valuations.
  • Must live in the state of NY.

Education, Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or related area of study required.
  • 1-2 years experience in a business, financial, audit, lending or consulting inventory environment preferred; the experience may include relevant internships.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and advanced functions and formulas.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets; understanding of inventory and other asset accounting methodologies is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high degree of integrity and business acumen.
  • Demonstrated analytical, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to manage multiple projects with a close attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Periodic travel required.
