Performs a variety of supply related functions which support the organizations patient care efforts. This includes but is not limited to using hand held PC/PAR EX devices to inventory unit supply areas, put away supply orders, maintain the supply areas in a neat and orderly fashion, identify and process emergency supply orders as needed, participate in teams to review and make changes to unit supply pars, perform all necessary receiving functions for unit supply deliveries, and general act as an advocate in all areas of medical supplies for units the employee is responsible for. Must work as part of a team that includes the patient service manager, nursing, and Materials representatives to include supply vendors, Customer Service Coordinators, vendors, and other materials staff in order to ensure quality customer service and meeting patient care needs as they relate to supplies.   • 1. Is assigned responsibility for supply ordering put away and other associated tasks for up to but possibly exceeding 4-6 patient care units with an inventory valuation in excess of $2 million.
  • 2. Reviews par levels for items working with the Inventory Control Specialist and Nurse Manager for approval. Rotates supplies while restocking, checking for expiration dates on items in the supply cabinet and in the store room. Cleans bins in the utility rooms that supplies are stocked a minimum of once per month or when dusty or dirty.
  • 3. Selects stock from inventory and loads distribution vehicles for delivery to the designated areas. Restocks units with isolation gowns daily. Breaks down pallets to restock shelves in stockroom same day delivery is received. Cross references the item package with the label on the shelf and in the Par ex cabinet to insure the correct product is replenished.
  • 4. Helps to complete tasks in the materials function that are not within the job description. Makes self-available when responsibilities have been met to assist in areas that may require assistance within the materials function
Qualifications:

EDUCATION

High school or Equivalent

EXPERIENCE

1 - 2 years in a Materials Management or Healthcare setting

SPECIAL SKILLS

Computer knowledge.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

May be exposed to biohazard substances and toxic chemicals. Subject to many interruptions. Lifts equipment/ supplies weighing up to 50Lbs. Pushes/Pulls or moves equipment, pallet supplies, flatbed carts. Frequent prolonged standing and walking. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Computer activities.
