Serve as an undergraduate research assistant on the project: Systematic Review of Racial-Ethnic Diversity-Related Publication Bias in Major Arts Journals

Previous systematic and bibliometric reviews of major empirical bodies of literature have revealed systemic bias in academic journals. While such reviews suggest several fields struggle to publish work that is created by- and comprised of- those from marginalized groups, no review has considered these questions regarding research in Arts education and Psychology of the Arts.

The research assistant will predominantly work as a support team, as a support team as well as data analysis and/or writing collaborators, always in tandem and with support of the PI/Faculty Mentor.

Possible responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

1. Data cleaning

2. Data analysis - predominantly descriptive statistics

3. Creating figures and tables

4. Finding relevant published research (i.e., literature search)

5. Manuscript writing and development

6. Proofreading and Revisions

* You must have Work Study funding added to your awards BEFORE applying for this position. You are potentially eligible for Work Study if you are a US Citizen or permanent resident, have filed a FAFSA, are enrolled in at least 6 credits, and are in good academic standing.

This position requires the following:

1. Must be Work Study eligible

2. Some experience with online & library resources for finding relevant research

3. Some experience with data analysis programs such as SPSS, R, or Excel

4. Moderate proficiency in scientific writing

* If these details are not available in the Award Offer section of your profile, you are NOT currently eligible for Work Study funding. If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, and you have filed a FAFSA, you can open a Help Desk ticket with Financial Aid to determine your Work Study eligibility.
