Bloomberg LP has built a significant media business spanning television, digital, magazine, radio and live event platforms across the globe. Booking key newsmakers in government and business is key to achieving this goal.
Bloomberg TV is seeking a Team Leader to steer the U.S. newsgathering team in New York City. Our newsgathering team supports and provides editorial guidance to the whole newsroom, reacting to breaking news and coordinating coverage across Bloomberg TVs global network.
The team leader is a high-paced role that requires an individual able to think on their feet, distil information and communicate clearly. The team leader will guide assignment editors and desk producers who are tasked with creating elements of broadcast storytelling such as sound and graphics. You should have a deep understanding, experience and knowledge of business news. You will have a strong grasp of newsroom planning and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. You will also thrive under the pressure of deadlines and be willing to jump into the trenches during breaking news. As Team Leader you'll need to help steer the experienced while nurturing emerging talent, helping them to grow their skills.

* Lead the team on a day-to-day basis, including schedules
* Guide and grow the team, provide regular feedback
* Communicate effectively with multiple teams across Bloomberg News
* Plan for daily and longer-term news events
* Work and thrive under deadline pressure while juggling different priorities
**YOULL NEED TO HAVE:**
* 5-10 years of newsroom experience
* Proven recent and relevant business news desk experience
* Experience working in a live news environment
* Strong news judgement with a focus on global business and economics
* Experience working with video and other visual elements
* Excellent communication skills
* Flexibility in working hours
