Job Description:

** Transportation Logistics Specialist (After Hours)**

*Share by Email* The Transportation Logistics Specialist develops a daily transportation route plan, which optimizes Sunrise Logistics ability to provide customer service while effectively managing ongoing cost expectations. Daily transportation plans will include managing the combination of both delivery of sales orders and backhaul in accordance with a routes daily plan.

This position is also responsible for providing transportation analysis support and reporting associated with cost reduction opportunities and productivity/customer service improvement.

**What you get to do**

* Develop and implement efficient and timely delivery routes and/or backhaul opportunities to and from the customer base utilizing our private fleet Sunrise Transport along with outside carriers

* Monitor transportation operations to effectively react and communicate necessary adjustments to the daily operating plan

* Maximize carrier utilization in accordance with ongoing goals and objectives

* Provide the necessary analysis, which will drive improvements to customer service, and enhancements in productivity

* Ensure compliance with DOT regulations

* Develop plans and ongoing analysis/reports

* Manage the coordination of daily backhaul schedules into the common daily transportation plan. Identify and develop alternate plans

* Communicate any backhaul loading

**What you need**

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Strong analytical / computer skills to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase customer service

* Significant knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic area (PA, OH, NY, NJ, DE, MD, DC, and Northern VA)

* Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations related to transportation (DOT/FMCSA regulations/requirements)

* Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office and truck routing software

* Associates or Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics or relevant field
