A major US hedge fund are looking to hire a newly created trader assistant position for its New York front office team.
Working on the trading desk, the TA will be solely responsible for a pod of traders & portfolio manager specific to a book that is achieving market leading performance this year. The role has a BAU focus on risk reports, P&L analysis/attribution & trade bookings, however more broadly this is a markets/street facing role, in addition to constantly working on ad-hoc tasks & projects for the investment team.
The analytical component of this role + requirement to work on multiple automation projects means that the hire will have an opportunity to learn python, SQL and VBA to a strong standard in this position.
The role is available as the current incumbent is moving into a trading role on the desk. The new hire will be offered a similar progression path (albeit a previous trader assistant is now an assistant portfolio manager and on a PM track at the firm, however the opportunity to manage a small team of TA s is hopefully equally as appealing (as we expect to hire a further 1-2 junior TA s on to this desk).
Candidates must have an exceptional academic record and 2-5yrs relevant operations/MO/TA/Product control experience, in a top tier IB or a hedge fund. Advanced tech skills are preferred.
The role is paying a $140-175k base salary and a $200-250k year one target total comp, with substantial year-on-year growth.
