The Salvation Army Out of School Time Programs

Club (During School Year): The After School and Out of School Time Services that The Salvation Army provides through its Boys and Girls Club sites are designed to gives students a safe space to engage in out of school time fun and enrichment. Club Members will have transportation to the site, operating from 3PM - 6PM, Monday through Friday. The first hour, club members receive some sort of daily snack and are seated doing their homework for the Power Hour. The remainder of the time, the club members are divided into different groups for different activities. Club members are officially dismissed at 6PM, during which time parents/caregivers are welcome to pick up their children, unless the caregiver gives permission to walk. The AmeriCorps Youth Education Facilitators will be expected to check-in with their designated Site Supervisor. Site Supervisors may hold meetings after club is dismissed, which AmeriCorps members are expected to attend. Club (Summer Camp): At the start of the summer, club transitions for the Summer Camp activities. AmeriCorps members are expected to increase their hours of service during the summer to ensure completion of hours by the end of their service term. Club hours during the summer are generally from 8 to 4, but may be subject to change, and will run Monday through Friday, excluding national Holidays. Similarly to after-school activities, students will engage in Robotics & Stem, Crochet & Knitting, Dance & Musics, Art, Reading and Math Enrichment, Culinary arts, and many more. Member Duties : The Salvation Army (TSA) AmeriCorps Member Youth Education Facilitators will promote Social Emotional Learning and academic resiliency for youth ages 6 to 13 in The Salvation Army's Out Of School Time Programs (after-school and Summer). AmeriCorps members are an integral part of the Salvation Army's youth programs through a common vision of improved student performance and achievement.
