Then you may have what it takes to join our amazing team?Where you fit inThe Terminal Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the Long Island, NY Terminal. Terminal Operators are needed 24/7/365 and shifts are selected on a plant seniority basis. It is important to note that new hires are required to successfully complete the Structured Operator Training program, which is designed to be completed within one year of start date. During this extensive training, the candidate must be able to comprehend and retain the information presented.What s the role?Duties include, but are not limited to the following:Facilitate the safe movement, receipt, and shipment of product between pipelines, tanker trucks, barges, and storage tanks by strictly following policies and procedures and ensuring proper system line-upEnsure that product transactions are properly measured, accurately documented, and conducted in accordance with established policies and proceduresEnsure that tanks are properly gauged by physically climbing the tanks and reading a gauge tape and plumb bob accurately down to 1/16th of an inchUse basic analytical test equipment and follow procedures for performing and documenting product qualityassurance testingAssist in the maintenance and repair of metering devices, pumps, valves, and related equipment, and perform meter calibrationPerform and document transport truck and routine terminal inspectionsStock balancing and reportingIssue work permits and oversee contract workersMinor Terminal hardware & maintenance purchasing in accordance with company proceduresPerform terminal housekeeping and light labor duties including snow and litter clearingEnsure safe handling of fuels while loading onto marine vesselsThe role of the Terminal Operator is continuously evolving and will change to fit the needs of the business. Much of the work is outdoors regardless of how inclement the weather may be.What we need from youMust have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employerMust be at least 18 years oldMust submit to all background, medical and reference checks, including hair drug testingMust be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime and on-call shifts as the Terminal is REQUIRED to be staffed 24/7/365Must reside within 60 minutes of the facility, or be willing to relocate to within 60 minutes without assistanceMust be willing to support and abide by the Company's safety policiesMust be willing to work outside in inclement weather with or without reasonable accommodationMust be willing to climb ladders, walk up and down steps, and work at heights with or without reasonableaccommodationMust be willing to work in compact and confined spaces with or without reasonable accommodation*Online Testing Requirement: Please ensure that you read all Workday tasks/actions when you apply for this role and that you complete the Online Assessment in the manner/timeframe referenced by Workday. Completing the online assessment and receiving a satisfactory score is required in order to be considered for this position.This position has a pay range from $28.49 to $39.72 per hour. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
