DescriptionOur Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add a Technical Maintenance Supervisor to its team. This role will work in New York, NY and works Monday - Friday, 6am - 3pm with overtime required as needed. This is a contract to hire role that pays $37-38 per hour. Upon conversion this role offers increased compensation,an annual bonus plan, and a strong benefit package.This role is a hybrid position combining leadership and property management responsibilities. The individual will be responsible for overseeing vendor, client, and tenant interactions, leading discussions on preventative maintenance, and supervising a team of two Maintenance Technicians. With a focus on a 100-year-old facility, experience with older buildings is highly valued.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in sewer lines, domestic water tanks, plumbing, and oil-based boiler operations, as well as familiarity with freight operations.
- Leadership and supervision of two Maintenance Technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Serve as the main point of contact for facility/building issues, providing recommendations for improvement and addressing maintenance gaps.
- Possess HVAC, plumbing, and electrical knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and address maintenance issues.
- Conduct client walk-throughs to identify facility issues and provide solutions.
- Utilize technology such as PDAs, laptops, and phones for reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering scopes to understand facility requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide formal supervision to individual employees within a single functional or operational area.
- Participate in staff recruitment, selection, promotion, and corrective action processes.
- Plan and monitor staffing levels and labor utilization, including oversight of overtime.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide mentorship to team members, ensuring alignment with company values.
Must-Haves:
- Technical education coupled with a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and compliance.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), proficiency in MS Office, and MS Project skills are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Fire safety/fire guard certification would be advantageous.
