One of our major fashion clients is looking for a technical designer for bags/accessories and apparel.
They are looking for someone to start ASAP.
This is a part time freelance role, 2-3 days of work per week, in office. in NYC.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to process tech packs that record Accessory construction and fit.
- Accessory categories include:
- handbags, belts, slgs, jewelry, scarves, socks, blankets, hats, cosmetic bags, tech, hair, sunglasses and sunglass cases, & footwear.
- Responsible for flow of information related to fit process, such as updating tech log, sending fit comments, and communicating with overseas factory counterparts.
- Manage fits by preparing samples, fitting, taking notes and completing fit lists
- Generate detailed sketch and tech packs.
- Communicate to factories in various methods i.e. pattern correction, digital photos, technical sketches, technical notes and construction.
- Ability to measure/spec samples precisely.
- Work closely with members of the Technical Design, Design, Production and Merchandising teams as well as our factories and vendors overseas.
- Daily communication with overseas and internal partners.
- Responsible for product packaging of assigned categories.
- Track and maintain record log of all samples.
- Maintain organization of sample closet.
- Filing and clerical management of Technical Design area.
- Other responsibilities will vary according to department needs and special projects.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
- Communicates verbal and written content accurately and in a timely manner with others (including vendors, merchants, production and design).
- Work with field/vendor representatives and directors to resolve issues.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design.
- Excellent communication, organizational, attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Knowledge of accessory construction methods.
- Knowledge of structural and decorative trims.
- Adaptive to a multi-tasked environment.
- Proficient in PC applications including MS Word, Excel and Outlook Express.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite
