A professional services firm on Long Island is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their staff in Suffolk County in a Tax Supervisor / Manager role. Responsibilities: The Tax Supervisor / Manager will be responsible for:
- Preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, trust and estate returns and projections for accuracy
- Providing insight to tax saving measures
- Performing Federal and State tax research
- Preparing financials (SSARS 21, compilations, reviews)
- Full charge coordination and completion of client engagements
- Consultation with clients on various business matters including controller support
- Responding to client inquiries, including IRS and State and Local tax notices
- Mentoring staff, as needed
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 4+ years public tax experience with HNW individuals and mid-sized businesses
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Current knowledge of GAAP
- Working knowledge of Accounting software
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- CPA or parts passed
- Background in Auditing
- Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and Engagement
