**Job Description:**

The Tactical Buyer is expected to be data driven and provide effective and efficient communication to internal and external parties. The candidate for this position must be disciplined in using data to develop a procurement plan, manage inventory, and interact with suppliers and customers. This individual will need to embrace change and promote continuous improvement

**Tactical Buyer**

* Procure and manage material to meet quality, delivery, inventory and price targets, using MRP and Lean Pull Systems. Effectively manage supply programs to achieve required lead times and inventory objectives.

* Evaluate MRP data and place purchase orders for production and resale materials. Review incoming orders and verify/assign ship dates. Communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and assist in the resolution of any issues.

* Enter and maintain material master data on assigned part numbers in SAP.

* Point of contact with suppliers for Operations, R&D, Engineering, and any other department as needed. Effectively communicate with and engage all levels of the organization as well as key suppliers and customers. Including support LDM morning meetings.

* Support Supplier Evaluations and Supplier Scorecard processes, including occasional supplier visits.

* Resolve issues regarding shipment/invoice discrepancies.

**Required Skills:**

* 2-5 years experience in Purchasing

* 1-2 years Planning experience

* SAP experience preferred

**Education:**

Bachelors Degree, in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related degree
