PDS Defense, Incis seeking a Systems Engineer in Owego, NY.Job Responsibilities: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systemsAnalyses are performed at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposalEnsures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraintsPerforms functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.This position is for a Systems Engineer with a background in avionics systems that will be a part of team charged with creating rotary wing aircraft mission systems and glass cockpits that integrate modern and legacy systems and subsystems, such as mission computers, smart display technologies, weapons systems, various data links, as well as an aircraft Operational Flight Program, using modern Systems Engineering principles, practices, and tools, including Model-Based Engineering, Automation, and working with an Agile development mindset.Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.Analyses are performed at all levels of the total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.Basic Qualifications :Experience collaborating on large Systems Engineering teams through the development lifecycle of an avionics subsystem within a complex mission system for rotary wing platforms.Familiarity with weapons systems, sensor systems, glass cockpits and mission computing.Familiarity with Agile and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles.Versed in Systems Engineering principles and practices, including trade studies, decision analysis and requirements development, specification development, test procedure design, and supplier management.Desired skills :Experience with SYSML and Systems modeling tools, including Cameo and Rhapsody.Experience with JIRA and Confluence.Knowledge of DevSecOps.Advanced experience with MS Office products.
