Job Type Full-timeDescriptionIf you are a team player with a passion to drive your career in Survey Engineering, Popli Design Group (PDG) is the place for you! PDG is seeking a Survey Technician to add to our growing and talented team. As a Survey Technician, you willbe responsible for following the direction of the Survey Crew chief to complete assigned projects. You should be willing to learn and adhere to procedures and state requirements as applicable. Adhering to safety procedures and utilizing personal safety equipment provided is of utmost importance. Additionally, you will be trained both in PDG's field and office procedures to assist in gathering of field data, processing that data through automated mapping and producing final plans. Requirements for the Project Surveyor position include the ability to operate standard survey field equipment and a willingness to learn new technologies. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's (preferred) or Associate's degree in Land Surveying and/or possess 3-5 years of experience with a Surveying Firm. Responsibilities
  • Follows the direction of the Survey Crew chief to complete assigned projects.
  • Willing to learn and follow procedures and State requirements when applicable.
  • Maintains equipment in good working condition, performs general cleaning and keeps a maintenance record, keeps batteries charged, and communicates the need for replacement batteries or equipment as necessary.
  • Keeps the truck equipped with supplies necessary to complete the day's work.
  • Adheres to safety procedures and uses all personal safety equipment provided.
  • Processing of field data and CADD drafting.
Requirements
  • Able to operate standard survey field equipment, and able to learn new technologies.
  • Must be computer literate and able to adapt to new software.
  • Experience with Trimble Access and/or Leica Captivate field software (Preferred).
  • Experience in Microstation and InRoads software platforms (Preferred).
  • Experience with Leica GNSS Equipment and Leica Infinity Software (Preferred).
  • Experience with Cylcone Point Cloud Processing Software (Preferred).
Experience, Education, and Certification
  • Bachelor's (Preferred) or Associates degree in Land Surveying and/or 3-5 years of experience with or Surveying Firm.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
Work Environment
  • This position may be a field or office position and/or a combination of each. Field schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:30 - 5:00; Office Schedule Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physical work (i.e. strenuous walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, loading and unloading equipment, etc.).
