**Job Summary**

The Studio Photographer will work meticulously to ensure that all visual assets and brand touch-points within the photo studios are consistent, beautiful, delivered on-time, and reflect Barnes & Nobles point of view. The ideal candidate is results-driven, versatile and will thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.

**What You Do**

Partners with Creative & Art Directors to determine shots that will solve the merchandising and editorial requirements and to meet the aesthetic standards established.

Key eye for visual aesthetics, able to style product shots

Manages Photography Studios and is responsible for their organization and supply, camera and lighting equipment, prop storage, and the inventory of books and products to be photographed.

Capable of event photography and managing lighting in retail settings.

Image management, metadata organization, and sharing.

Usage rights management, organization and archiving

Ensures the quality standard for any images that come out of the studio.

Able to work with food and prop stylists and food/drink as well as small craft and step-by-step shots.

**Knowledge & Experience**

7+ years as a photographer in either a retail, e-commerce or publishing Photography environment.

Strong portfolio of product, food and beverage, and event photography required.

Expert knowledge of photographic techniques such as lighting, composition and color correction.

Capable of interpreting mood boards to realize consistent branded imagery.

Proven ability to work with stylists to create strong set of editorial images with a consistent look and feel

Experienced with stop-motion photography and high-quality video export for multiplatform settings.

Ability to perform under pressure and within deadlines, while being resourceful and thinking creatively to increase productivity and throughput.

Able to source, use, and archive props

Results driven with a sense of urgency.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent knowledge of Phase One Capture One software and studio lighting equipment.

Superior skills with Photoshop and Microsoft Office.

Proficient operating knowledge of Mac OS.

Ability to set priorities, problem-solve, and multi-task.

7+ years as a photographer in either a retail, e-commerce or publishing Photography environment.

Strong portfolio of product, food and beverage, and event photography required.
