The Department of Perioperative Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a per diem Sterile Supply Associate, Operating Room. The successful candidate will:
* Maintain and stock Operating Room supply areas in accordance with established par levels.
* Report items that exceed and/or falls below established par levels.
* Check inventory level using minimum or maximum methods.
* Check the rotation and expiration of supplies received from Central Sterile and Central Stores.
* Communicate effectively with the staff about supply needs.
* Accept and sign for supplies received from Central Sterile and Central Stores.
* Responsible for the transportation of supplies and equipment to various locations within the department.
* Develop and maintain professional rapport with business associates, physicians, nurses, and other staff.
* Work in collaboration with other members of the surgical team and other healthcare disciplines to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
* Take an active role in managing resources.
* Use ethical principles to guide decisions and actions consistent with University Hospital of Brooklyn operating goals and objectives.
* Use appropriate policies and procedures to deliver quality services.
* Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Required Qualifications:
* High School Diploma.
* Some computer knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in Warehouse Distribution.
Work Schedule:
Variable Days; 7:00am to 3:30pm

SL-2

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
