Sr. IT Project Manager

New York, New York (Hybrid)

12 Month Contract (Potential for further extension/conversion)

$65/hr-$85/hr

We are seeking an individual to work with a Fortune 50 Broadcast Media & Entertainment leader located in New York, New York. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for owning of the end-to-end delivery of a vast amount of product and technology features concurrently as it relates to discovery and experience workstreams of the organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to own features from ideation through launch across global propositions, engage with multiple engineering teams, partnering with other project/program mangers on aligning feature dependencies, and working across stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years' experience leading technology delivery projects, building effective plans, and executing them to completion
  • Experience handling 10-20 projects/features at once working cross functionally
  • Experience working with video engineering, Media, or Streaming technology
  • Working knowledge of project & program management and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex concepts for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to coach technical resources in project management best practices, dependency management, risk mitigation, and escalations
  • Key understanding of technology principles and work methods (Agile, Scrum etc)
  • Working knowledge of PM and tech working platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet and others
  • Confidence in navigating through ambiguity (i.e. partnering with product owners, technical product owners, and architects to define requirements and solutions)
  • Enjoys wearing multiple hats (i.e. owning project and program delivery of the portfolio, but also being able to steer product owners and architects through refinement of features to a point where they can be estimated and road mapped for delivery)
  • Ability to take complex technology discussions and break them down for non-technical groups
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence team members from multiple internal departments and external vendors
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and communicate with leadership

Responsibilities:

  • Partner and manage across workstreams to support stakeholder communications & project status
  • Partner and manage work with business, product & technical workstreams to execute technology deliverables
  • Partner with other PMO and Delivery teams to ensure successful delivery within business expectations and requirements
  • Engage and support stakeholders through plan preparation, status updates, risk planning and objective-based meetings
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies and develop plans to escalate and mitigate them
  • Utilize enterprise project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SmartSheet and other applications to provide project status and reporting, while adhering to PMO processes, documentation standards, and best practices
  • Delivery could include but may not be limited to operations -based initiatives, projects involving video player/encoding technologies, workflow optimizations, and multiple engineering/technology platforms involving content.
