Software Engineer

This role is with one of the top tier High Frequency Trading (HFT) firms in the world, within their NYC office.

It is within their core platform team, responsible for inbound market data and outbound order entry/trade execution. These functions are extremely latency sensitive, and require an intimate knowledge of C++ and low-level memory management components.

A unique aspect of this role is that they are particularly interested in developers without previous experience in the trading space. As of now the majority of the team hails from a traditional finance background, and they are looking to bring someone in who can provide a fresh perspective and round out the team's approach.

There is an opening for both a Junior (1 - 5 years of experience) and Principal (7+ years of experience) engineer on the team. The Principal title is the highest they have for individual contributors, and would afford significant levels of ownership over the systems you would be working on.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science, or a related field (Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Etc).
• A strong background in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming in C++
• Working knowledge of Linux
• As mentioned above, financial experience is NOT required.
