Description

PumpMan NYC company located in Astoria, NY is a leading provider of pumps, pump packages, Service, Sales, Maintenance and repairs for the mid-Atlantic region for over 95 plus years.
**Description:**
PumpMan NYC (Repairs) is currently looking for a Shop Manager for its PumpMan NYC Astoria, NY (Repair) facility. This position handles the day-to-day production scheduling, manufacture, and shipping. This position also provides technical assistance to internal and external customers relative to order fulfillment and product status.
On the production side, this position will source and maintain inventory, manage, and expedite the product manufacture, and work with the engineers and technicians to assure a quality product.
On the sales side, this position will provide update delivery schedules and expedite products as needed.
* **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Oversee pump production by managing the technicians to manufacture product.
* Monitor and request materials needed for production.
* Receive pick lists for manufacturing that identifies the material needed for fabrication from the engineers.
* Monitor information flow impacting project completion and follow up internally and externally to assure timely response to affected parties.
* Investigate and resolve reported field problems after shipment.
* Propose and coordinate design improvements to resolve repeated problems.
* Other duties as assigned.
**Education:** 2- or 4-year college degree preferred but not required. 3-5 years experience, running a manufacturing or high pace multiple variable operation.
