Shipping and Receiving - Warehouse Buffalo , New York **Job Description**

The Warehouse Associate handles the shipping and receiving in our warehouse. Duties are as follows:
* Read shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
* Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
* Sort and place materials on racks or shelves according to predetermined sequence.
* Fill orders for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute inbound materials.
* Wrap pallets to be shipped out.
* Load and unload inbound and outbound freight.
* Sweep up warehouse and dock areas, organize work areas, and keep supplies stocked.
* Maintain work area per food safety requirements.
* Other projects as assigned.
**Requirements**
* High school or equivalent education.
* Minimum of 1-year warehouse required.
* Computer skills desired.
* Forklift certification is required.
* High level of physical activity, including standing for long periods of time, lifting/maneuvering up to 50 lbs.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to communicate and coordinate effectively with internal personnel and external carriers.
* Ability to read, comprehend and write simple correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or fellow employees.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Work in a manufacturing setting utilizing computers, dollies, forklifts, hand-held measuring devices or scanners, hand tools, safety knives, packaging equipment, pallet jacks, standard safety equipment (i.e. steel-toed shoes).
