**Job Overview**

Chazen is currently seeking a full-time Senior Transportation Engineer/Traffic Engineer. Position will be located in our White Plains, NY office.

This position will lead and manage a broad range of traffic engineering and transportation planning projects for private and public sector clients. As a Senior Transportation Engineer you will apply technical expertise, lead project teams, coordinate with reviewing agencies and stakeholders, and manage client interactions and relationships on a variety of projects. Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate progressive experience in transportation engineering, with specialized skills and experience in traffic operations and transportation planning. The Senior Transportation/Traffic Engineer position may lead to a company-wide Director of Transportation Services position.

**Responsibilities**

* Participate in business development, client marketing, the preparation of proposals and making presentations

* Schedule project work and resources

* Manage significant projects personally, and manage and oversee technical staff and their development

* Prepare project deliverables including construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports

* Provide oversight and technical quality control of deliverables (technical studies, plans, specifications, & estimates) produced

* Ensure compliance with firms QA/QC process and perform QC personally as needed

* Act as a representative at project meetings and coordination with project sponsors or clients

* Provide jurisdictional testimony in defense of studies performed

* Work with managers, project managers and technical staff throughout the company as necessary to support multi-disciplinary projects

* Travel as necessary to other company offices, project sites, meetings and events

* Cross-sell the companys multi-disciplinary services

**Qualifications**

* BS in Civil Engineering. MS in Transportation Engineering, other advanced degree and/or PTOE a plus;

* Current NYS PE license. Licensure in adjacent states/TN a plus

* 7-10 years of relevant experience in Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering, primarily in a consulting environment

* Established relationships in the lower Hudson Valley and NYC metropolitan area, including local officials, state agencies, private developers and institutional clients

* Familiarity with the MUTCD, AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards and practices;

* Strong technical knowledge of transportation services with use of the following software: HCM and HCS, SYNCHRO/SIM Traffic Software, SIDRA, and VISSIM

* Hands-on experience of Work Zone Traffic Control design, intersection design, traffic signal system design, transportation planning/modeling, closed loop traffic signal systems, and design/implementation of intelligent transportation systems (ITS)

* Experience in performing traffic engineering studies and simulation analysis including developing and managing traffic data collection programs, capacity analysis, accident studies, signal warrant study, roundabout study, signal optimization, level of service and intersection analysis, and arterial/corridor analysis

* Experience in providing traffic inputs for environmental studies (i.e., SEQRA)

* Experience using AutoCAD; MicroStation a plus

* Experience and knowledge of highway design and Locally Administered Federal-Aid Design process a plus

* Demonstrated verbal, written, interpersonal and leadership skills

* Excellent teamwork, collaboration, project management and business development skills

* Proven technical capabilities with excellent oral and written communication skills
