A law firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Tax Accountant for a promising Senior-level position with their growing team. In this role, the Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for a variety of firmwide tax-related activities. Responsibilities The Senior Tax Accountant will:
- Prepare various Federal, State, and International business filings, local tax registrations, and sales/value added tax returns
- Reconcile tax accounts and payments while researching issues, as needed
- Research Federal, State, and International tax issues and prepare memos, as needed
- Assist with projects like automation revolving state tax compliance
- Coordinate and monitor foreign tax obligations with internal and external teams
- Maintain tax database/records
- Prepare and coordinate work papers for US and foreign tax returns
- Participate in the implementation of a new finance system pertaining to tax matters
- Work with the Partner Accounting team on various tax-related issues
- Produce tax reports for partners
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Tax Accounting experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Experience in a Public Accounting role/setting
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
