We are in immediate need of a Senior Structural Engineer for our Mineola, LI, or New York City Office.
Responsibilities
- Apply a wide array of technical and project management skills across projects spanning from minor rehabilitation endeavors to large-scale new constructions.
- Take charge of structural engineering analysis and design tasks for a variety of new and existing structures, encompassing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood/timber building structures, as well as transit facilities/stations, foundations, and site/waterfront infrastructure.
- Lead site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and identify structural deficiencies.
- Conduct condition assessments, load ratings, schematic designs, and prepare written reports summarizing investigation results.
- Supervise and contribute to the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications, and coordinate with other design disciplines to ensure the delivery of top-tier engineering services.
- Offer solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects.
- Support the mentorship, training, and growth of junior engineering staff.
- Assist in the preparation of technical proposals for new work.
- Represent the firm in meetings and site visits with clients.
- Actively engage in local industry organizations and business development activities.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the department s technical standards.
- Coordinate staffing requirements and monitor project financial performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master s Degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in Structural Engineering.
- NY PE certification required.
- Strong mentorship abilities.
- Proficiency in project management, client management, task delegation, and providing guidance to technical staff.
- Understanding and application of code requirements.
- Experience with various structural analysis software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is advantageous.

Compensation: Minimum: $120,000; Maximum: $160,000.
