Overview:

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a senior levelMechanical Engineer to join our Buildings/Mechanical team in Albany, NY!

Our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers are experienced in a wide range of projects, including power generation & distribution, lighting systems, fire alarms, security and access control systems. We design new and renovated systems, as well as energy controls. We offer both new building commissioning and retro-commissioning. Our experts are skilled at reducing energy usage while creating comfortable interior environments. Our professional engineers evaluate how the design impacts both short-term capital costs and long-term operational costs. Our team can also conduct constructability reviews to lower project costs and shorten the time to completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Applies diversified engineering principles and practices to design projects relative to mechanical design that encompass considerable scope and complexity
  • Perform complex assignments requiring development of new/and or improved techniques and procedures
  • Participate in the interpretation, update, and/or creation of Standards of Practice
  • Perform the duties of a Project Engineer
  • May serve as Bergmanns contact for clients and contractors
  • May act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects
  • Suggest new ideas and processes, stay informed of developments in practice areas, view obstacles as opportunities
Qualifications:
  • 8-10+ years of experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed PE or pursuing licensure
  • Required to be technical in the mechanical engineering field
  • Prior experience creating/designing internal piping processes and/or working on commercial and/or industrial structures is a plus
  • Ability to use advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices in developing designs
  • Ability to perform QA/QC on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or design engineers on projects
  • Ability to assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions
  • Working knowledge of Industry Standard (ISA) P & ID development and evaluation
  • Advanced skills in Revit and proficient in CAD
  • A passion for current or future leadership
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player who is also able to work independently

Compensation: $100,422-$119,502 DOQ.
