Overview:

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs and keeps firm work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Responds to facilities and maintenance situations on a day-to-day basis related to security access, conference services needs, furniture issues, HVAC issues and maintaining vendor relationships. Researches and bids out more involved facilities issues and repairs.

Responsibilities:
  • Installs or repairs firm equipment, including keyboard trays, standing desks, furniture and other office equipment.
  • Provides basic office maintenance services including painting, key replacement, appliance repair, moving boxes, filter changes, light bulb replacement, sweeping/ mopping, blind installation/repair and plumbing issues.
  • Coordinates regular preventative maintenance for carpet cleaning, stone cleaning, supplemental HVAC, pest control, fire extinguishers and building vendors.
  • Solicits quotes from outside vendors with respect to office repairs; leveling vendors based on quality and price and coordinating repairs.
  • Coordinates with building management to facilitate work being performed by outside vendors and emergency repairs, including plumbing issues, HVAC issues and electrical outages.
  • Submits work orders with building management for special engineering requests beyond normal scope of work.
  • Uses the access control security system, helping with printing and deactivating cards and ensuring card database integrity by accurately entering information.
  • Helps with office/desk moves and preparation of spaces for new hires, visitors, and terminations.
  • Performs installation of bulletin boards, white boards and pictures as requested.
  • Assists with daily housekeeping duties, as needed.
  • Assists Conference Services in setting up and providing service for meetings and firm events.
  • Completes regular audits of work done by daily housekeeping and other vendors.
  • Monitors and adjusts temperature in areas controlled by using the firms Building Maintenance System and keeping log of changes.
  • Maintains keys for offices, file cabinets and secretarial desks.
  • Assists Operations Manager and Operations Coordinator with projects.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum GED or High School Diploma
  • Five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have excellent command of English (both written and oral)
  • Ability to use a wide variety of common tools as necessary.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to lift/ and or move up to 75lbs, use ladders, stand or walk for long periods of time, climb or balance, and to move freely within the workplace.
  • Ability to focus on a computer for long period of time.

Comprehensive and Total Rewards Package:

Ropes & Gray is proud to offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package to our business support team members. The anticipated pay range for this role is $49,500 - $69,000, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

Working Conditions:

This position requires on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.

Hours: Monday-Friday 10:30-6:30, with some overtime.
