Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for Senior Process Gear Engineer who will be responsible for developing manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of gears, shafts and other related components. This is a direct hire opportunity with a Manufacturer of Aircraft Parts located in College Point NY. Pay will be between $95K to $110K Working knowledge associated with gears such as heat treat, carburizing, nitridng, and copper masking is essential. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working knowledge associated with gears such as heat treat, carburizing, nitridng, and copper masking is essential
- Responsible for gear manufacturing process development and definition estimated costing
- Human factors consideration in development
- Efficient process and material flow
- Reading and interpretation of complex blueprints and associated specifications
- Process design, construction, integration, installation, successful launch and continuous
- improvement of

- improvement of CNC equipment and tools required for the production of high quality gears,
- shafts and associated components

- Providing technical direction and oversight of outside vendor sources for gears, gear blanks
- and related components
- Providing technical direction and oversight of in-house manufacturing operations to ensure the

EDUCATION
- College Degree with major in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years experience
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong technical knowledge and abilities in process engineering disciplines
- Knowledge/ Experience with gears & gear design, shafts and like components
- Knowledge/ Experience in CNC manufacturing and measuring processes
- Ability to solve problems and create effective relationships with customers, operators, outside suppliers and fellow engineers
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and WordExperience with
- Epicore-9 a plus
- Technical knowledge / experience in the areas of cylindrical grinding, gear grinding (profile or generative) and/or heat treatment
- Experience with the management of capital projects
- Experience in recommending, planning, implementing process flow and manufacturing cell design a plus
- Able to establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality
- plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations
- Able to implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas
- Able to assist in specifying the procurement of gear and shaft manufacturing equipment, tools and gages
