As we experience this exceptional growth, we are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to join our team as the Senior Director, Food Services. We believe that in person collaboration is critical for TopView Group s continued success, therefore this role will be a full time, on site position at our kitchen facility located in Midtown Manhattan. Ability to work one weekend day per week and occasional holiday availability is required.
As the Senior Director, Food Services, you will manage all food and beverage services, food prep operations and concession operations across all product lines including various bus and boat tours. The position will report to the SVP of Operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences while always striving to deliver the highest level of culinary and experiential product to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all facets of food and beverage services including food prep operations, food & beverage service operations, concessions sales etc. across all bus and boat tour offerings
- Maintain safe working environment in all areas including various food preparation, food handling and food service areas
- Ensure quality of food and service meet and exceed customer expectations
- Develop, maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each job function
- Develop resource allocation methodology for staffing each type of event based on sales projections
- Optimize production and service process to continually improve cost effectiveness of our offerings
- Collaborate with Executive Chef to continuously refine and develop new recipes and offerings, for various events and seasons
- Manage contractor relationships with 3rd party vendors including catering services, food & beverage vendors, delivery service providers, staffing agencies etc.
- Partner with and manage catering service providers to ensure their quality of food and service meets and exceeds our expectations
- Ensure right inventory levels of food, beverage, supplies and equipment are maintained at all times and re-ordering procedures are being adhered to
- Minimize waste in prep and ordering processes
- Hire, train, motivate and performance manage team members
- Increase flexibility of employees through cross training and maintain an accurate cross training matrix for the department
- Collaborate effectively with other teams such as Water Tours, Bus Operations, Marketing etc. to ensure pre-planning and scheduling of themed tours runs smoothly
- Partner closely with group Sales to close private and large group events, understand the nuances of each experience and deliver on these expectations
- Collaborate with customer service on any food service related issues
- Deal with any in person customer escalations
- Stay abreast of industry trends and suggest/ lead new ideas for additional revenue streams
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Degree in an applicable discipline or equivalent professional experience
- 15+ years of food service management experience, preferably in high volume hospitality industry
- Understanding of food safety, preparation and handling regulations
- Sound knowledge of process optimization
- Strong leadership experience in leading, motivating and performance managing teams of 50+
- Strong data analysis skills including but not limited to forecasting, workforce planning, scheduling, resource allocation, financial planning etc.
- Able to perform root cause analysis and present logical conclusions
- Experience with various productivity, project management and financial suites like Google Workspace, MSOffice, Monday.com, ClickUp.com, SAP, Netsuite etc.
- Able to establish priorities and manage workload
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience negotiating with vendors on price, quality and payment terms
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations from agencies like Department of Health, EPA and OSHA
- Commercial kitchen experience (preferred)
- Experience managing a union workforce (preferred)
- Able to perform physical aspects of the role, including but not limited to regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 plus performance metrics based bonus
