Job Description:
The Business Operations Sr. Director partners with the Sr. Assistant Vice President in the development and integration of the Office of Business Operations into the infrastructure of the Health System including related initiatives, services and programs.
The Sr. Director analyzes, and evaluates the business needs and serves as the liaison between the business, quality, ambulatory, clinical and pharmacy teams. Collaborates with Administrative leadership and the clinical community to provide feedback for projects and initiatives. Acts as the internal expert in terms of what a business operations project is, and is not capable of, and is responsible for knowing what changes have been made to the project/initiative. This role directs and implements financial and strategic planning activities related to the integration of administrative practices into the processes of the Health System. He/She will have operational expertise, program management, leadership, direction, and oversight for Business Operations initiatives managed or supported by the Senior Assistant Vice President of Business Operations and Health System SVP of Business Operations.
Responsibilities include participation in the design of program goals, timelines and objectives; supervision of project operations; assisting with defining measurable and actionable metrics; supervision of objectives within the programs, development of relationships including interactions with corporate partners, supply chain, procurement, pharmacy, nursing and physicians. He/She will work closely with internal team members, stakeholders, collaborators, and participating facilities to ensure that projects are conducted in a timely manner to achieve goals within defined budgets by creating POCs, Project Charters and Work Breakdown Structures.
This position will report directly to the Sr. Assistant Vice President and work closely with the Senior Leadership to focus on several areas including, but not limited to, training, staff development, retention & hiring, partnership with business development, client relationship building, P&L management, strategic leadership, resource utilization, financial reporting, performance improvement, use of technology, regulatory compliance, clinical education, management of appropriate drug utilization, drug spend analysis, and quality improvement activities.
The selected individual will be a member of the Business Operations Management team and will be expected to interface with other leaders within the organization for collaborative direction and decision making. This role will have several direct reports.

5. Serves as the liaison by understanding and interpreting business requirements, mapping process models, designing technical solutions to satisfy requirements, and completing formal system piloting.
6. Analyzes business needs and ensures that functional and technical requirements are documented.
7. Establishes and maintains working relationships with the organization in order to obtain information and content from providers for health system selections.
8. Develops or assists in the development of work plans, task sequencing, and runs test cases to evaluate the extent of how tasks may be performed concurrently.
9. Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing and maintaining project information and models. Also develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.
10. Develops and manages best-practices and tools for performance improvement plan execution and management. Identifies and manages performance improvement dependencies and critical path issues.
11. Serve as an operational resource for internal team members for expedited problem identification and resolution, provision of project-specific updates, and team interactions and deadlines.
12. Ability to coordinate or manage multiple projects across the Health System.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management or other related discipline from an accredited college or university; and,
2. Six years of satisfactory, full-time paid responsible experience in information processing, program management, systems development or related activity in a large governmental agency, hospital or health care facility, or hospital-related business firm, three years of which shall have been in a managerial capacity; or,
3. A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or other related discipline, and five years experience as outlined above, one of which must have been in a managerial capacity; or,
4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
