Job Description:

Note: This is a full-time, on-site position based at our NYC office.

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Data Architect to work in our New York City office full-time and in person. The Senior Data Architect will have a key role in our platform architecture by modeling, designing and implementing a modern data stack that enables the creation of scalable applications, and gaining knowledge and insight from the data. The architect is responsible for all data sources concerning business operations and outlines a design to integrate, centralize and maintain data.

Our ever-expanding in-house engineering team supercharges the development of our vast network of technologies used by millions of visitors, such as: ticketing platforms with custom POS, ticket validation, and reservation system; iOS and Android mobile applications, e-commerce websites, and B2B sales portals; full-featured customer validation systems, state-of-the-art PA, GPS systems and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions using SQL and non-SQL databases on cloud based platforms.
  • Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models along with corresponding metadata using best practices to ensure high data quality and data access.
  • Document, present and communicate modeling artifacts and recommendations to the engineering team and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure best practices in data management are being followed.
  • Own and resolve data governance, data quality and protection issues
  • Workclosely with cross functional teams and leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements.
  • Evaluate implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency, and identify areas of improvement in current systems.
  • Play a key role in the process of data transformation required for effective reporting, analytics, and visualization.
  • Determine the data storage needs, create and maintain data infrastructure for the company.
  • Determine the requirements for new database architecture and identify solutions for new databases and new data architecture.
  • Coordinate with other team members to reach project milestones.
  • Mentor junior members of the team.

Requirements and skills:

  • Bachelor s degree or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong and hands on data modeling and data engineering skills.
  • 10 or more years of experience in SQL database(s) includingexperience with developing SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • 5 or more years of experience with non-SQL databases.
  • 5 or more years working in a data architect role including modeling,designing and building complex data solutions using SQL and non- SQL databases.
  • Experience in designing data architecture to support analytic needs of the company.
  • Strong understanding of and experience with data management concepts, data governance, and data security.
  • Strong experience with cloud technologies (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS) and cloud data engineering tools and services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Dedicated and hardworking leader who achieves maximum efficiency
  • and productivity working with the rest of the team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment.

Compensation:$195K - $275K annual salary + bonus
