**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The **Senior Buyer Home Dcor and Technology** is responsible for driving growth through commercially successful products and growing our reach in the food community through innovative partnerships. Senior Buyers are entrepreneurial business drivers who can run a business and work cross functionally to execute their ideas. We are always seeking the next great uncommon good and are passionate about the people and the products we work with.

Reports to: Director of Merchandising

**ABOUT YOU**

You are naturally curious and love to discover uncommon products that nobody else has to offer. You are the one that can always find the needle in the haystack. You are persistent in pursuit of your goals and do not back down from a challenge. You have a knack for using data to build on current success and are not afraid to champion new ideas. You are excited to explore the endless possibilities of e-commerce and wont settle for business as usual.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Set the assortment strategy for multiple categories of business and execute on that strategy by launching brand right bestsellers.

* On-board artists and designers and develop positive relationships that support our brand and business goals.

* Survey assortment and industry trends, staying current on product distribution, competitive pricing, and market positioning

* Initiate and develop effective vendor partnerships through market research and attending trade shows and following up on product leads

* Collaborate with other departments to ensure the highest level of merchandise quality and customer satisfaction

* Partner with creative and marketing teams in showcasing new items in print and on the web

* Partner with in-house design team to create exclusive products for your assortment

* Perform weekly and quarterly business analysis and hindsight presentations to executive leadership team

* Achieve new item, gross margin, gross profit and exclusive sales goals

* Provide leadership for a small team of buyers

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

* Passion for the Uncommon Goods brand

* Design eye and enthusiasm for scouting, testing, and developing new products

* Track record of driving and improving business outcomes

* Strong relationship management and negotiation skills; market and business savvy

* Experience successfully mentoring and developing a small team

* Empathetic collaborator with excellent analytic and communication (verbal and written) skills

* Experience in buying, product development, and/or the consumer products industry required

* 7+ years experience in the Home Decor and/or Electronics industry preferred

This is currently a fully remote role. Fully vaccinated team members are welcome to work onsite, provided they follow the monthly testing schedule required for all onsite vaccinated team members.
