The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, flexible spending plan, voluntary plans etc.). This is responsible for completing monthly bill processing, responding to daily inquiries from employees, attorneys, and managers, and troubleshooting eligibility issues. Sr. Benefits Specialist is responsible for completing benefit enrollments and changes and troubleshooting eligibility issues.Essential FunctionsProvide exceptional customer service support to internal and external customers; develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the firm's benefits programs.Analyze current benefits - suggest enhancements to offerings and/or processes based on the evaluation of use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience, and competitive trends in benefits programs.Serve as primary/secondary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.Evaluate and revise internal processes to increase efficiency; Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations; ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.Coordinate daily benefits processing; assist with enrollments and changes, audit COBRA processes; ensure all documentation is received and reviewed timely.Oversee maintenance of benefits records, audit benefits entries in HRIS to ensure accuracy and review integrations error reports to resolve issues. Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly invoices, collaborate with payroll and finance, as needed, to ensure billing and payroll deductions are handled timely and accurately.Audit the accuracy and performance of functions performed by benefits team.Conduct new hire Benefits Orientation bi-weekly to educate new hires about their benefits.Prepare, audit, and ensure payment of vendor invoices and self-billed insurance payments.Support the annual open enrollment process - pre and post enrollment cycle and answer employee questions throughout the process.Experience with supporting leave of absence cases (FLMA, Disability, State Protected Plans)Support to Well-Being program by assisting in driving initiatives and program activities Provide support with compliance efforts such as plan valuation, 5500, annual audits and government reporting.#LI-LM1#LI-HybridQualifications/Skills Required5 or more years of benefits experience. Experience in a law firm or working with professional staff, highly desired.Experience with Workday, Required Knowledge of benefits contract languageKnowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, etc.Working knowledge of employee benefit plans, laws, and regulations.Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Intermediate excel skills.Strong data analysis skills and data entry skills.Excellent client service and interpersonal skills.Educational RequirementsBachelor's Degree.For Westchester County, the expected wage range for this position is between $52.50 and $62.50 per hour.
