  • Lead the design process by developing innovative architectural concepts through sketches, digital renderings, 3D models, and presentations that align with project goals, client aspirations, and functional requirements.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on specialized systems. Liaises with Principals, other Architects, and consultants.
  • Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects.
  • Coordinates with Principals on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
  • Prepares strategic plans for project success.
  • Responsible for coordinating all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
  • Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments to complete the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to the client's satisfaction.
  • Estimates fees, determines the scope of work, prepares proposals and contracts, and oversees less experienced project managers.
  • Handles the most complex projects of the largest magnitude.
  • Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to develop design concepts that align with project goals and objectives, design criteria, and client vision.
  • Coordination with the design team to review invoices.
  • Integrate MEP, structural, and other engineering considerations into design development and coordinate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Select appropriate materials, finishes, and construction methods that align with design intent, sustainability, and project constraints.
  • Oversee the production of comprehensive architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams.
  • Lead and facilitate design charrettes, reviews, and presentations to gather feedback and refine design concepts.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and coordination meetings to address design-related challenges and ensure quality control.
  • Stay informed about emerging architectural trends, technological advancements, and best practices.
  • Contribute to business development efforts through client meetings, proposal preparation, and presentations.
Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseMinimum Qualifications
  • Registered Architect.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in architectural design and project leadership.
  • Advanced understanding of building systems, construction methodologies, and industry regulations.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality, complex architectural projects from concept through completion.
  • Strong design sensibility and the ability to contribute creative ideas to design discussions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and clients.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on producing accurate and high-quality documents.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using architectural software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn to take on new challenges in a fast-paced design environment.
  • Proficiency in architectural software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
  • Exceptional conceptual thinking, design, and problem-solving abilities, showcased in a diverse portfolio.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Passion for innovative design, sustainability, and architectural excellence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and project-related issues.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry advancements.
  • Ability to complete projects with limited supervision and complete the QA/QC process.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LEED AP+.
  • 2+ years of Project Management.
  • NCARB certification.
  • Retail and multi-site project experience.
  • Retail prototype experience.
  • Experience processing entitlements and permit approvals in jurisdictions throughout the US.
  • Management experience of direct reports.
  • Involvement in professional organizations.
