A financial services company in New York City is actively seeking a dedicated and driven professional to join their staff as their new Senior Accountant. In this role, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for help with the maintenance of the general ledger, including reconciling account balances and bank statements and preparing month-end/quarter-end close procedures. Responsibilities The Senior Accountant will:
- Assist with the preparation of accurate, timely reports in accordance with the monthly close calendar.
- Review and record all investment-related activity
- Lead the investment process
- Assist investment team in KYC process
- Maintain new investment checklist and the capital roll forwards
- Assist with the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls for investment entities
- Review and recommend modifications to policies and procedures
- Maintain monthly compliance reporting
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 8+ years of relevant Accounting experience
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP)
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Experience with Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks, and handle highly confidential information
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
