Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald created Levain Bakery in 1995, out of their passions for food, friendship and hard work.
Competitive swimmers and triathletes, Pam and Connie passed their grueling workouts by engaging in passionate conversations about starting their own company and baking, which ultimately inspired them to leave their respective careers in fashion and finance. They opened a small bread shop in 1995, which they named Levain Bakery.
From the start they baked everything fresh on-site each day and donated the days leftovers to charity each night, actions that remain solidly in place almost 25 years later. Levain Bakery now has eight locations with more to come, plus ecommerce gift boxes, and more delicious bites of joy in the works!

**RETAIL TEAM MEMBER (ONE SEASONAL and ONE PERMANENT)**
Retail team members help provide a high level of customer service and hospitality to bakery customers in addition to sharing product knowledge and enthusiasm for Levains products. Team members will also assist with other tasks throughout the bakery, including preparing delivery orders, acting as baristas, and helping with the final steps of our pizza and cookie baking processes. The ideal candidate will love interacting with all kinds of people and sharing their passion for sweets!
What youll do:
Warmly greet and serve customers (we welcome a steady stream of regulars and tourists!), ensuring everyone walks away feeling the Levain love.
Support bakery operations by organizing supplies, fulfilling delivery orders, monitoring inventory, and helping manage the flow of the customer line.
Work with the bakery team to fill in as needed; were all working towards one goal, and its not uncommon for a retail team member to help bake or clean dishes on occasion.
What were looking for:
Prior retail or customer service experience a plus but not required; for the right people, were more than happy to teach.
Passion for what you do you find joy in creating connections with different kinds of people.
Adaptability and flexibility you recognize that in the food industry, anything can and will happen and youre able to calmly troubleshoot issues.
Eye for detail youre observant and understand that the details make the difference: the warmth of a greeting, the presentation of a cookie box, or the organization of a drawer can all affect how a customer feels about Levain or how well the store operates.
Collaborative spirit and commitment to Levains core values youre a team player and willing to lend a hand or elevate those around you. You add your own individuality to an already positive and uplifting work environment. A good sense of humor doesnt hurt either!
**Shifts Needed:**
Full-time; 5 shifts a week, weekends and holidays required.

$17/hr
