**Description**

Responsible for supporting the Retail Manager by successfully operating the retail store and factory tours at Vermont Teddy Bear; as well as being part of the regular working schedule and supervising the day-to-day operations of the store. Create a welcoming, memorable experience for our guests that reinforces our brand identity and emphasizes our story and helps build loyal customer relationships. In short: help make people feel special and magical!

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**

Customer Experience:

* Motivates qualified, enthusiastic, and entertaining retail staff throughout the year to provide exceptional experiences for all our guests.

* Motivates Lead Bear Ambassadors and Bear Ambassadors by creating a fun dynamic work environment that will result in reduced turnover, increased productivity, and increased sales.

* Participates in recruiting and hiring of Lead Bear Ambassadors and Bear Ambassadors in conjunction with the Retail Manager and Human Resources.

* Collaborate with Retail Manager to coordinate and oversee the training of Lead Bear Ambassadors and Bear Ambassadors to provide a memorable experience for all guests.

* Coach Lead Bear Ambassadors and Bear Ambassadors and provide direct reports with insightful feedback consistently throughout the year and in reviews on a quarterly basis.

* Provides daily to-dos for all staff and maintain up to date notes in the staff communication book.

* Ensures the tour runs on schedule.

* Performs role of Lead Bear Ambassador when needed, including but not limited to closing and opening the store, covering weekends and holidays when needed.

* Acts as a troubleshooter for employees and guests.

* Support the Retail Manager with training and coaching Bear Ambassadors on leading tours.

* Participate in Turn the Walls as requested

Operations + Inventory:

* Coordinates with Inventory Control per their guidelines on execution of cycle counts and supply counts on a regular basis and assists with annual audit.

* Adhere to inventory control guidelines and procedures; assist inventory control team with yearly audit.

* Assist Retail Manager with reporting of daily sales log to the Sales and Marketing team.

* Help maintain the tour bus and private event calendar.

* Order inventory from warehouse and oversee proper processing and labelling procedures.

* Make sure the POS system is working properly and troubleshoot any issues that may come up.

Merchandising:

* Assist Manager in execution of merchandising plans and train retail employees on maintenance of displays and product presentation.

* Maintains accurate and pricing adjustments for merchandise.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Excellent verbal and written communication

* Minimum 2 years retail experience

* Previous supervisory/coaching experience preferred.

* Working knowledge of MS Office and Google Workspace
