CALS is fundamentally invested in improving the lives of people, their environments and their communities both in New York state and around the world.Position Function This position requires an experienced scientist with state-of-the-art skills in molecular biology and molecular genetics and genomics. The scientist will use these tools to investigate transcription regulation in human cells. The scientist will be expected to generate genome-wide data on transcription, protein-DNA interactions, and long-range genomic contacts between promoters and enhancer element that regulate transcription. This position also requires that the scientist be capable of analyzing this data and providing initial drafts of manuscripts that describe and discuss results.Anticipated Division of Time

• 75% - Laboratory research and data analyses, working specifically on the goal of understanding the structure and functions of regulatory promoter and enhancer elements, especially those that are associated with Alzheimer's disease.
• 10% - Writing research papers and progress reports that come from this research. Publishing results in peer-reviewed journals.
• 5% - Giving a lecture or two and helping to teach in the courses where John Lis is the lead teacher, primarily, The Nucleus BIOMG6390.
• 5% - Assist to develop new grant applications.
• 5% - Professional Development
