Background

With a rapidly growing team of immunologists and genome engineers and backed by top-tier TechBio investors, OverT Bio is developing effective and safe cellular therapies for solid tumors. Founded in 2022 by Drs. Mat Legut and Neville Sanjana, OverT Bio has pioneered new pooled functional screening and synthetic genomics platforms (OverTarget and OverTCR ) to develop next-generation engineered immune cells. The science behind these platforms has been published in leading journals including Nature, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Nature Reviews Cancer.

Position Summary

This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team on cutting-edge technologies at the intersection of genome engineering, immuno-oncology and single-cell multiomics. Responsibilities include supporting the R&D team through a variety of cell culture, flow cytometry and molecular biology tasks. The role will expose the successful candidate to a wide range of wet-lab techniques and will foster their growth through close collaborations with PhD-level scientists. The successful candidate will be an excellent team player and a diligent experimental biologist who can thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

o Cloning and testing constructs for primary cell engineering,

o Performing functional tests on engineered T cells (cancer cell killing, ELISA, flow cytometry, FACS),

o Assisting with primary cell isolation and culture,

o Maintaining and testing established cancer cell lines,

o Transfecting and generating stable cell lines,

o Maintaining key instruments,

o Keeping a detailed record of experimental procedures and results,

o Maintaining the inventory.

Requirements

o BS in Biology or related field,

o Minimum of 2 years of experience with cell culture (industry or academia),

o Experience with molecular biology is desired,

o Experience with primary cell culture and immunology is desired,

o Willingness to quickly discover and learn new methods and approaches;

o Ability to adjust rapidly to shifting priorities and deliver high-quality, detail-oriented results in a timely manner;

o Teamwork and collaborative attitude are essential;

o Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

o Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, typically in the $60,000-80,000 base salary range;
