Job Description:
The successful Radiologic Technologist candidate requires the demonstrated ability to operate imaging equipment for the provision of required examinations, combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong knowledge of radiographic techniques and ability to work independently. This employee will provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff with an emphasis on quality service and safe care. Employee must be self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work as a team. Employee will be responsible for routine radiography imaging as well as assisting with Fluoroscopy procedures such as bariums exams, arthrograms and myelograms, hysterosalphigograms, trauma cases, and various Operating Room procedures. Employee will demonstrate knowledge in radiation safety and sterile technique. Employee will be responsible for assisting with IR cases such as Nephrostomy tubes, drainage catheter placement, Power ports, Tunneled Dialysis catheters, Pelvic Venograms and various other procedures. NYS Radiologic Technology license required; CT certification preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Radiology preferred.Schedule: Per Diem - Days Flex (Day, Evening, Night - coverage as needed)Job Responsibilities include:
  • - Maintains a safe clean environment according to Joint Commission standards
  • - Practices radiation safety at all times and adhere to the regulations set forth by Part 16 of the NYDOH regulations
  • -Stocks and clean rooms as assigned ensuring all are completed prior to leaving for the day.
  • -Monitors blanket warmers, contrast warmers, refrigerators temperatures and check the crash cart daily as assigned.
  • -Demonstrates team work to provide the best possible customer service care for our patients and visitors.
  • -Demonstrates proper hand hygiene according to CHS policy
  • - Demonstrate a knowledge of Imaging Standard Operational Protocols (SOP) and follows them accordingly
  • -Demonstrates professional communication at all times.
  • - Demonstrates appropriate computer skills, understanding of PACS, Meditech , Emails, Shiftwizard and CD burning
  • - Completes annual competency of all radiologic equipment including c-arms, o-arm and injectors
  • - Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to assist radiologist and other physicians as needed
  • - Performs daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual QA as assigned.
  • -Attends and participates in staff meetings
  • - Is flexible with shift changes as workload dictates
  • -Assists with training of new employee and students
  • - Is an approachable research for others
  • - Maintains CPR certification as well as required licensing
  • - Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above
Requirements:Education - Associates degree in Radiologic SciencesExperience - Preference two years' experience but new graduates welcomedLicensure - ARRT and NYS licensePhysical Requirements - Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients and ambulate without assistance.
