Thank you for your interest in employment with Southeastern Louisiana University.Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Teaching & Learning invites applications for the position of Instructor of Education. Faculty will be expected to teach undergraduate courses related to instructional competencies and educational methods, using face-to-face and distance education learning formats following best practices for effective teaching practices for each; supervise teacher candidates in clinical settings, advise teacher candidates, maintain regular office hours, participate in service to the University, College and community and other such assignments directed by the Department Head.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEarned master's degree (MED or MAT) or higher in Curriculum & Instruction or related discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in methods and/or curriculum development courses from an accredited university by hire dateMust meet SACSCOC credentials to be able to teach the courseworkTeacher certification and 3+ years of experience teaching in PreK-5 settingsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience teaching adults either in collegiate settings or providing professional development to teachersDESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLSExcellent oral/written and interpersonal communication skillsCommitment to personal and professional caringAbility to cooperate with others to benefit students and the programAbility to actively engage in program development, refinement and deliveryREQUIRED DOCUMENTSCover LetterResume/VitaCopies of Transcripts (Only an unofficial transcript for the Highest degree is required atapplication.
