Commodity Insights The Role: QA Engineer
The Team: The team works in Agile environment and adheres to all principles of Agile. As a QA Engineer, you will work with a team of intelligent, ambitious, and hard-working software professionals. The team is independent in driving all decisions and is responsible for the quick turnaround of development of our products with high quality.
The Impact: - Achieve personal objectives and contribute to the achievement of team objectives.
- Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations and/or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Functional, API, and database testing from various feeds on server (Oracle, SQL server) using different testing strategies to ensure the data quality and data consistency, timeliness
- Achieve the above intelligently and economically using QA best practices

- Responsibilities:
- Work in the Agile environment and adhere to all QA best practices
- Perform functional, automation, database and API testing for a wide range of enterprise applications.
- Attend, contribute in sprint planning sessions and design test approaches to test user stories within the same sprint and look for the opportunities to automate tests by identifying the areas so as to minimize retesting
- Initiate and support performance and security testing
- Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, Re- testing and contribute to automation
- Analyze product requirements and ensure the testing strategy is aligning a risk-based test approach mitigating risk exposure within all phases of testing; utilizing automated testing tools to continuously build automated regression test suite
- Write test cases and scenarios from the requirements/designs; manage bug tracking; Test Analysis and Reporting
- Active co-operation/collaboration with the teams at various geographic locations
- Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide prompt response and support in resolving critical issues (along with the development team )
- Investigate new Testing Methodologies, keep abreast with latest advances/techniques and ramp up the team accordingly
- May require after hours/weekend work for production implementations.
What We're Looking For: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
- 3+ years of strong experience in QA or application development
- Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, QA methodologies, defect management system, and documentation
- Command of essential technologies: Basic SQL scripting, API
- Should be able to create functional automation scripts using Selenium / Java.
- Strong experience in Web, API and cross-browser testing
- Knowledge of Mobile testing, Web service testing etc.
- Excellent Analytical and communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies
- Ability to lead test efforts, mentor, and motivate staff.
- Functional knowledge of GitHub
- Functional knowledge of Jenkins
Desired Skills - Basic experience in load testing using JMeter
- Karate framework

The Location: Houston, TX
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated starting salary for this position is in the range of $70,000 - 85, 000 USD/year. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
