Job Title: Prevention Consultant

Reports To: Supervising Prevention Consultant

Location: Hudson County

Prevention Links, established in 1971, has an extensive history of providing science-based prevention programs that introduce and reinforce the skills necessary for youth to make good choices; to strengthen families; and, to train community members in best practice strategies to delay or prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Our work focuses on identifying and enhancing existing strengths within the individual, family, school, and work setting to serve as the first and most valuable resource in sustainable revitalization of all types of community.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with consultants, school districts, and community service providers to facilitate training, workshops, webinars, assemblies, etc.
  • Assists in the programmatic data collection, reporting, continuous quality improvement processes and evaluation of services to target population.
  • Adheres to Prevention Links administrative, reporting and recordkeeping guidelines to support accurate documentation of activities.
  • Acts as a representative of Prevention Links, upholding agency expectation of excellence and collaboration.
  • Maintains an understanding of all programs, grants, and projects offered by Prevention Links.
  • Performs work responsibilities in various locations.
  • Participates in all agency required training.
  • Other duties and tasks as requested by the CEO or Division Director

Qualifications:

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and races.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and possess basic computer skills.
  • Open availability to attend weekend and evening meetings and events as required.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
  • Effective time management skills to organize and manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S and New Jersey.
  • Must be able to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a computer and be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver s License and an independent mode of transportation.

Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree in a Human Services related field, experience in the provision of prevention related programs. At least three (3) years experience working in non-profit, social service environment in development or implementation of community-based services, prevention programs, or any other human service programs. Experience in implementing evidence-based practice models and other materials related to training, coaching according to policies and procedures.

Travel: Domestic travel is required for this full-time position. Local, independent travel is required. Must possess a valid driver s license and method of transportation. Position requires frequent travel within and outside of Union County. All travel mileage will be reimbursed.

Evening and Weekend Availability: Must be available evenings and weekends for meetings, outreach, and program coverage.

Hours Per Week: 35 Hours/ Week, Salary, Exempt

Salary Range: $42,000-$45,000
