As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving project success by creating meticulous work breakdown structures, negotiating change orders, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
Position: Project Manager
Location: Suffolk County on Long Island
Salary: $125k-$150k annually
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive work breakdown structures based on project scope and timelines for completion.
- Negotiate change orders and time extensions as necessary, ensuring alignment with initial contractual agreements.
- Mentor junior engineers to foster their professional growth and development.
- Prepare payment requisitions and manage cost-loaded schedules to streamline project deliverables.
- Oversee subcontractor payments and approve product submittals to maintain project integrity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including architects, designers, and contractors to finalize design concepts and specifications.
- Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance to optimize project execution efficiency.
- Design HVAC systems and calculate structural requirements for project components.
- Utilize expertise in Heat and Mass Transfer, thermodynamics, and metallurgy to ensure proper material selection and machinery functionality.
- Implement quality management programs, conduct inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate resource utilization, capacity planning, and procurement planning to mitigate project risks.
- Utilize Six Sigma tools to enhance Key Performance Indicators and drive continuous improvement.
- Issue regular progress updates to stakeholders regarding project costs and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in project engineering, preferably in construction or related industries.
- Strong proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus.
