POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Corporate Accountant will assist with our global closing and consolidation process to meet deadlines for internal and external reporting. This role is responsible for consistency and accuracy in our closing processes in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. Additionally, the role will drive efficiencies, a strong control environment to enable best practices, standardization, and scale within a global growing organization. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to multi-task with effective communication. This role will report to the Manager of Corporate Accounting. The role will also serve as a business partner with other teams within the global CFO organization. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support and play a key role in the month end close activities and general accounting functions, including:
    • Prepare journal entries and ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with US GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
    • Prepare and review account reconciliations
    • Confirm intercompany balances and investigating out of balances
    • Collaborate and serve as business partner with cost center owners for month-end accruals
    • Provide variance analysis on parts of the financial statements
  • Prepare accounting schedules to support quarterly and annual SEC filings
  • Oversight and maintenance of ERP master data and data governance processes
  • Support internal/external audits, including preparation of audit requests
  • Ensures compliance with internal controls
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies that align with US GAAP
  • Leverage IT tools to enable efficiencies and enhance accounting operations
  • Communicates with local and foreign subsidiaries on new accounting issues and resolution
  • Business partner with other departments on accounting related projects
  • Assist in Next Generation ERP implementation
  • Work on other ad-hoc projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Self-starter with organizational, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Advanced Microsoft application skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 4+ years of related progressive experience in corporate accounting and consolidations
  • Experience with large ERP system environment (SAP, S4/Hana, Oracle, Blackline)
  • Experience working for a multi-national company
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Public company experience - desired
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment - desired
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CPA candidate - desired
COMPENSATION: As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $80,000 to $105,000 per year.
